The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), established in 2004, is the national center for
student support in Japan. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, JASSO plays a vital role in
ensuring that students across the country are able to pursue higher education with confidence,
security, and opportunity.
Rooted in its mission of “Student Services,” JASSO provides essential support through three core
areas: scholarship programs for Japanese students, support for international students, and a range
of student services aimed at improving student life and access to education. These programs are
designed to promote equal educational opportunity, empower diverse student populations, and
respond to the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education shaped by technology, global
exchange, and social change.
As a central institution, JASSO works closely with government bodies, universities, and industry
partners to strengthen the infrastructure of student support across Japan. It conducts research on
student life, offers training for educators and administrators, and contributes to national education
policy development.
JASSO’s mission is to cultivate the potential of each student while fostering a society where all
learners can thrive. Through its ongoing efforts, the organization continues to serve as a foundation

独立行政法人日本学生支援機構（JASSO）は、2004年に設立された日本の学生支援の中核機関です。2024年に設立20周年を迎え、JASSOは全国の学生が安心して高等教育を受けられるよう、その環境と機会の提供に重要な役割を果たしています。
