The Faculty and Graduate School of Human Sciences at Waseda University are based at the Tokorozawa Campus, established in 1987 as part of the university’s centennial project. Rooted in the belief that academic advancement must ultimately serve human well-being, the school is dedicated to fostering enriched, healthier, and more fulfilling lives through interdisciplinary education and research. Our academic programs span three core areas—Environment, Health and Welfare, and Information—each addressing complex issues facing modern society. Students are encouraged to question assumptions, explore multiple perspectives, and connect personal experiences with theoretical frameworks. Through inquiry-based learning, discussion, and hands-on research, they acquire the ability to think critically and act collaboratively across traditional academic boundaries.
The Graduate School emphasizes the importance of understanding human beings in all their complexity. Whether studying social welfare, education, or emerging technologies, students engage with real-world challenges through both scientific methods and empathetic dialogue. In a time of rapid change, we strive to cultivate researchers and practitioners who embrace diversity, value human-centered approaches, and contribute meaningfully to society.

早稲田大学の人間科学部および人間科学研究科は、大学創立100周年記念事業の一環として1987年に設立された所沢キャンパスを拠点としています。「学問の進歩は人間の幸福に寄与すべきである」という理念のもと、学際的な教育と研究を通じて、より豊かで健やかで充実した人生の実現を目指しています。
本学の教育・研究は、「環境」「健康福祉」「情報」という現代社会の重要課題に対応する三つの分野を柱としています。学生たちは、既存の枠組みにとらわれず、多様な視点から物事を探究し、自己の経験と理論的枠組みとを結び付けながら、問いを立て、議論し、実践的な研究に取り組むことで、批判的思考力と協働する力を養います。
人間科学研究科では、人間を多角的かつ総合的に理解することの重要性を重視しています。社会福祉、教育、先端技術など、さまざまな分野において、科学的手法と共感的な対話の両面から現実の課題に向き合います。急速な変化の時代にあって、多様性を尊重し、人間中心のアプローチを大切にしながら、社会に貢献できる研究者・実践者の育成を目指しています。
